Metro International, the world's largest and fastest growing newspaper, has appointed Mr. Christian Toksvig as Vice President of Corporate Development

Mr. Toksvig joins from a position as International Operations Director at Northern & Shell Plc where he has been responsible for the international roll-out OK! Magazine in 16 countries and has served as CEO of the company in North America.

Mr. Toksvig will contribute with his knowledge in this field as part of his responsibilities at Metro International will be launching Metro free newspapers in new franchise markets. VP Jan Sjöwall will continue to do the same and focus on larger potential markets. Mr Toksvig will be reporting to Executive Vice President Steve Nylund.

Educated in the United States and Denmark, Christian Toksvig began his media career straight out of business school. For four years he was a journalist with the esteemed Danish business magazine, Monday Morning. In 2000, he took up his first position with Metro International. In 2002 he was hired by Northern & Shell Plc. Since 2004, he has been responsible for the international roll-out of OK! magazine, the world's most successful international celebrity title. Under Toksvig's management the title has launched local editions in 16 countries in three years, a feat unprecedented in the world of international magazine publishing.
