METRO COMPLETES PRIVATE PLACEMENT

SEK 447,288,600 or approximately US$ 42.0 million of the funding was raised from non-affiliated companies via the placement of 7,123,800 new Metro A shares and 12,403,700 new Metro B shares with more than 20 Swedish and international institutional investors. These investors included Handelsbanken Fonder, SEB Funds and the 4th Swedish National Pension Fund amongst others. In addition, 10,236,138 new Metro A shares were placed with Industriförvaltnings AB Kinnevik, and 263,862 new Metro A shares and 3,267,142 new Metro B shares were placed with Modern Times Group MTG AB.
The total issued and outstanding number of shares following this transaction will be 55,823,671 Metro A shares and 53,559,460 Metro B shares.
