In 2010, Metro Hong Kong launched a very successful campaign where readers were encouraged to write “what will be making the news headlines in 18 years from now”. Readers submitted and shared their stories onto a website.
Metro international decided to make a global version of “Future Daily” for 2011.
A global advertising campaign, “Metro Future Daily”, was launched in the majority of the Metro countries with an extensive global microsite. The site offers local adaptions, to fit each individual market (image below shows the Russian site).
The idea for the advertising campaign was to show how products and services looked like 20 years ago, and to challenge readers to write about what they believe the world will look like in 20 years from now.
The Future Daily project is active, and will run until the end of September 2011.
